They made me an offer I couldn't refuse at this garage sale

I asked the seller what she wanted for the pile. “I’ll probably take like $10 for it, honestly.” Both of them, $10. That’ll work.

Then we got to the movie binders. Big ones $5 a piece, small ones $3. Regular DVDs a dollar each — we’re just trying to get rid of them anyway. They’d already had a buyer come through and grab a stack. I asked if the discs were in shape, and she said the previous owner kept them like new — they shouldn’t be skipping. Maybe one or two, but the majority is going to be fine.

I walked out with four pink binders, a black one chock-full, and four more of varying counts. She did the math out loud — three, four, five, six, seven, nine dollars. That’ll work.

Total spend: $19. Now look — keep in mind, y’all — we’re lotting all of that out. We’re going to make huge lots from these. Stuff that’s worth almost nothing on its own gets a second life in a bundle of 50.

That’s the play here. When the seller’s already trying to get rid of it, and you’ve got the inventory shelf to be picky like this — that’s a good day at the garage sale.
